Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, and using the DormDeal app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use DormDeal.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must have a valid .edu email address from an accredited university
• You agree to provide accurate and truthful information

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use DormDeal only for legitimate marketplace transactions
• Not list prohibited items (weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen items)
• Not engage in fraud, harassment, or abuse
• Maintain confidentiality of your login credentials
• Not impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
• Respect other users' privacy and data

4. Transactions & Payments

4.1 Marketplace Listings

• DormDeal facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers
• Product descriptions must be accurate and include condition details
• Pricing is in USD
• Sellers are responsible for ensuring items are legal and not stolen

4.2 Payment Processing

• In-app payments are processed through Stripe and may support Apple Pay where available
• We do not store full payment information on our servers
• Refunds (if any) are issued to the original payment method

4.3 Buyer Protection

• Eligible purchases may be covered by dispute resolution
• Direct/off-platform payments are not eligible for buyer protection
• Keep communications in-app whenever possible for safety and support

5. Prohibited Items

The following items cannot be listed or sold on DormDeal:

• Weapons, explosives, or dangerous materials
• Illegal drugs or controlled substances
• Counterfeit or stolen goods
• Hazardous materials or chemicals
• Adult content or services
• Plagiarized or illegally distributed academic work

6. Reporting & Moderation

• Users can report listings, users, or messages for violations
• DormDeal reviews reports within 24 hours
• Violations result in listing removal, warnings, or account suspension
• Repeat violations may result in permanent account termination

7. Disputes & Chargebacks

• Disputes must be filed within 30 days of transaction
• Chargeback attempts without using the dispute system will result in account termination
• Fraudulent chargebacks may be reported to authorities

8. Limitation of Liability

DormDeal is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.

9. Account Termination

DormDeal reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:

• Violation of these terms
• Fraudulent activity
• Multiple unresolved disputes
• Harassment or abuse of other users

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of DormDeal after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
